Within the framework of the Unesco/Keizo Obuchi Research Fellowships Programme 2005, co-sponsored by the Unesco and the Japanese Government, Ms. Liz Azzi was granted a fellowship for 9 months in Italy to conduct a research work on environment.

ALECSO honored Dr. Mohammad Jawad Rida for his valuable contribution to educational research especially in the domain of "Perspectives and Strategies of Education in the Arab World".

2000, The third UNESCO Crafts Prize for the Arab States:
The Prize was awarded to Sheikh Mohammad Fayad for his creative design of the traditional oriental cloak (Abeya). The unisex garment was made from exquisitely woven hand-embroidered silk. It was recognized for its elegance and perfect workmanship.

- 2000, The UNESCO Prize for children and youth literature in the service of tolerance:
The prize was awarded to Dr. Najla Nusayr Bashour in recognition of the literary value of her two books : "My Brother is Different", and "My Friend", which embodied the principles and ideals of tolerance especially towards the disabled.

2000, The prize for the International contest "Children's views on science":
The associated Rawda High School work was selected from among 191 school works presented on how children view science. The write-up and drawing of a student from Rawda High School were selected to be the best subject presented on health and nutrition.

The Associated International College school, won, along with 6 other schools from all over the world, the prize for its outstanding cartoon design which was selected from among 300 other contributions.

- 2000, One of the 12 pages of UNESCO calendar was set aside for the art work of the associated Ras Beirut High School:
The art work of Ras Beirut School interpreted the student's understanding of the culture of peace. It was chosen to represent the Arab region in the poster produced by UNESCO about the subject.

- 1999, The UNESCO Cities for Peace Prize:
The Prize was awarded to the municipality of Zouk Mikael for the initiative taken and the successful efforts made to strengthen social cohesion, to improve living conditions in disadvantaged neighborhoods and to develop urban-rural harmony.

1998, The Comenius Medal:
Dr. Najib Abou haidar Lebanese -Ex- minister of education and Ex- president of the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO was awarded the Medal for the creative and effective efforts he exerted in order to involve the local community in support of a pilot public school in Hammana town.

- 1996, The Outstanding National ASPnet Coordinators Award:
An award was given to Mrs. Hala Soubra Itani for her contribution as a national coordinator to the implementing and strengthening of the national network of UNESCO associated school project

1996, One of the 12 pages of the UNESCO calendar was set aside for the art work of St. Anthony College Hammana:
The art work of St. Anthony's College was selected to appear in one of the UNESCO calendar pages. It presented the Baalbak site, which is listed in the World Heritage List.

A workshop on Human Rights Education: 23-24 February 2001 Beirut-Lebanon
The workshop was tailored in such a way as to equip school teachers with the basic knowledge about the Charter of Human Rights and to also train them to create awareness among their students about daily life issues relating to Human Rights.

- 1995, The first international prize for the best song that glorifies peace :
The associated Makassed Omar Bin Al Khattab School won the prize that was granted by Hiroshima authorities in recognition of the outstanding performance of the school both in terms of the Lyrics and the music of the song : "Sun of Peace".

The prize was awarded to Mrs. Naima Harfouche for her handmade design on silk with very special silver embroidery named "tarok".
