Within the framework of its 60th anniversary and under the patronage of H.E. the Minister of Information Dr. Tarek Mitri, the Lebanese National Commission for Unesco organizes a conference entitled Role of Media in enhancing Euro-Med Understanding. The conference will bring together renowned personalities to tackle pertinent subjects and to attempt to give answers to some controversial issues. The conference will take place on the 23 and 24 of October, 2008 at Le Bristol hotel, and will comprise a Keynote speech by H.E. Mr. Patrick Laurent, and five main themes to be debated in five panels :
Panel 1: "The Academic Framework for the role of media in enhancing Euro-Med understanding"
Panel 2 : "Role of media in enhancing Euro-Med political understanding"
Panel 3 : "Role of media in enhancing socio economic understanding"
Panel 4 : "Role of media in enhancing Euro Med cultural understanding"
Panel 5 : "The Euro Med Understanding from the perspectives of actors through media"
