Under the High Patronage of H.E. the President of the Republic of Lebanon General Michel SLEIMAN and On the occasion of the world philosophy day and within the context of both the 60th anniversary of the Lebanese National Commission for Unesco and the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration for Human Rights, the National Commission organizes an international conference that addresses the ethical dimensions of the Universal Declaration from a philosophical perspective. The conference targets to create awareness about the subject, to underscore the pivotal role of the civil society in reinforcing Human Rights, and to partake in the ongoing debates of concern, with the hope to find explanations for and possibly answers to the controversial issues that are being raised in that respect. The opening session will be on Thursday November 20th at 6 p.m at Issam Fares Hall – AUB
